How To Rebuild Credit – Plain Simple Facts To Help Build Credit

Do you possess a good credit rating or are you like so many now and suffering from the credit downturn? Having poor credit when compared to good can make life really more like a daily ride of frustration and embarrassment.

As such its highly important to either possess a really good credit score or to be in a position of re building credit. How to build credit though, if yours is less than rosy? What can you do to heighten your financial score?

Building my own credit rating back up on a hurry has not been my priority to be honest but I do know what it takes to get back on the right path. First though it takes a lot of patience. If you are just about to begin rebuilding your own credit you will meet with lots of frustrations and inevitable set backs along the way.

Nevertheless, building credit back up again can be done and if you follow a procedure then it becomes easier and less time consuming too.

First things first, get a free copy of your credit report, which can be found by doing a search on the internet for “free credit report” or something similar. You can also go to this website: www.AnnualCreditReport.com to get yours (I have no affiliation to the site). Check through it and make sure there are no errors on there. Its a proven fact that errors are commonplace and this alone can adversely affect your own credit rating.

If you find there are errors then you should contact the credit reporting agency who are in the position to be able to inform you as to how to go about removing them. The web address which can be used in the US is www.creditreporting.com and in the UK its www.creditreporting.co.uk and in Australia you can visit http://www.privacy.gov.au/faq/individuals/q17

What you then need to do is make a plan of action how to rearrange this for the better. And top of the list is to ensure you pay all your bills on time in future as this really does affect credit rating a lot.

Next is to make a list of all the things in life that are influencing your credit in a bad way. This obviously could be things like having missed some payments on bills such as telephone, electricity and the like. You can’t make this disappear but what you can do is make sure you budget well enough to never let it happen again.

You do not need to use the card, and indeed you can go ahead and cut it up. But do not cancel the account. Let the account lie as is and it will give your score a booster even though you are doing nothing with it.

In time if you keep plodding along doing little things to improve your score it will all add up and soon enough your financial future will improve. You cannot make the past disappear but you can brighten the future if you put your mind to it!
