Risks and benefits of hiring a midwife

Midwifery is one of the most misundertood professions in the world.It might not be as popular in this technology-dominated days but there are still people who practice it.  If you don’t know a midwife is one who assists a woman during delivery.  Usually not a nurse or a doctor it has been asked whether or not it is safe to use a midwife.Because giving birth using midwives is usually done at the homes of the mothers.  So we are going to look and see if it is really safe to use a midwife in a home birth.

Drug-free delivery of babies are what midwives usually do.  At least that is my experience running a San Diego midwife service.  Plus it is usually done in a home.Those are the reasons why there are so many sceptics out there who say it is not safe.  But really it is because most people think the only safe way to have a baby is with drugs and medicine.  But that is not true. 

In fact, it can cause some complications and it will slow down the delivery of the baby.Midwives use no drugs that is why the delivery is faster and the recovery of the mother would also be faster.  That has been the case so many times in my homebirth midwife San Diego service.Most mothers who went natural experienced faster recovery.

Finally what people don’t realize is that most natural home births are recommended only for healthy women.Meaning that if the woman has medical problems before which can endanger the pregnancy or if the pregnancy of the woman is high risk then I will recommend them a hospital delivery.  Generally the women I do assist in my certified midwives San Diego practice are women who have had no history of complications.  The moment I realize there is a danger to their delivery I recommend a hospital.

Hopefully, you would see that there are a lot of precautions before a mother will be allowed to undergo a natural birthing.That is why homebirthing always result to a wonderful and healthy family.
